Defender Cesar Azpilicueta was forced to leave Chelsea's match against Newcastle United in the first half Saturday after suffering an apparent groin injury.
The Spanish international suffered the injury just minutes before halftime and was replaced by Filipe Luis.
Azpilicueta will undergo scans to determine the severity of the injury in the coming days.
Luis is the likely candidate to replace Azpilicueta at the left-back position if scans reveal a serious injury.
