For the first time in 116 years, Sunderland have won four consecutive Tyne-Wear derbies following their 1-0 away win over hated rivals Newcastle on Sunday.
The lone goal came in a manner befitting such a massive clash, as Adam Johnson - who already holds a reputation for shattering hearts at St. James' Park - scored in the 90th minute by finishing off a wonderful counterattack from Sunderland.
Keep in mind that Johnson was born in Sunderland and trained at Newcastle United Academy during his youth career.
Johnson just loves scoring against the club that helped mould him into the player he is today.
Here's a quick overview of his four career goals versus Newcastle:
- Dec. 21, 2014, Newcastle 0-1 Sunderland, 90th-minute winner
- Feb. 1, 2014, Newcastle 0-3 Sunderland, 23rd-minute penalty
- April 14, 2013, Newcastle 0-3 Sunderland, 74th-minute goal
- Oct. 3, 2010, Manchester City 2-1 Newcastle, 75th-minute winner
