Wenger on winter transfer window: 'I have money so no problem spending it at all'
Shut up and take Arsene Wenger's money.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal's fixture versus Liverpool, Wenger indicated that he'll be happy to open his wallet where necessary during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Arsenal are widely reported to be in search of a centre-back following Thomas Vermaelen's £15-million move to Barcelona last summer, and Wenger insists that can he can now spend more freely than past transfer windows, since he's no longer shackled by the club paying for the construction of the Emirates Stadium.
"There is a huge difference between the perception that people have of me and (the reality): I'm not scared to spend money," Wenger said, according to the Guardian's Paul Doyle. "If you go out with me one night, you will understand that."
Wenger added: "What I don't like is to spend money that I don't have. Now I have money so no problem spending it at all. What I fought against was spending money that would have put the future of the club in danger."
A night out with Wenger splurging money sounds like a blast.
