Report: Thierry Henry to earn £4 million per year working for Sky Sports
Having brought the footballing community to a standstill by hanging up the cleats once and for all this week, Thierry Henry is now set to venture into the world of punditry.
It might seem like a small consolation when reflecting upon Henry's legendary performances for Arsenal and Barcelona among other clubs, but seeing the 37-year-old Frenchman behind the desk at Sky Sports should make for great entertainment, particularly based off his past on-air appearances.
For example, Henry worked for the BBC during their coverage of last summer's World Cup, and his punditry was received extremely well.
However, expectations will be higher this time around as Henry's six-year deal with Sky Sports will reportedly earn him £4 million per year. It's a figure that will turn him into the highest-paid pundit in football, eclipsing the £1.2 million his new colleague Gary Neville is believed to earn.
According to the Daily Mail, Henry's new deal will also allow him to work for the BBC in the future, although he is not permitted to work for Sky Sports' rivals BT Sport.
Watch the video below to see Henry detail his reasons for pursuing punditry.
