Radamel Falcao eager to extend Manchester United deal: 'Me and my family are happy here'

Radamel Falcao reiterated his desire to remain at Manchester United beyond the current season, despite finding himself on the bench more often than not since arriving in England.

The Colombian has not started a match since Oct. 5, and in recent weeks manager Louis van Gaal has preferred teenager James Wilson to start alongside Robin van Persie - this, despite Falcao having recovered from a calf problem and being available to feature in recent matches.

Regardless, the former Monaco striker says that he would like to stay in England beyond his loan spell - assuming, of course, one important condition is met between now and the end of the season.

"Obviously I have to analyse the situation, see if I play more and see what decision the board takes. But from my point of view, I really want to stay. I am very happy in this city, in this club and I am enjoying it here," he said.

"I am very well. I'm almost at 100 percent now. Let's wait and see what the decision of the coach is, when he wants to use me more."

He continued:

"We talk a lot, the coach and I. He has a philosophy that I respect. I have had an injury, and I have had to wait for the opportunity to play.

"Every footballer wants to play, no one is happy when they are not playing, when they are on the bench, but whenever I am given the opportunity, whether it be for five, 10, 20 or 90 minutes, I have to give my best."

Falcao's next chance to improve on the 295 minutes he has played for United thus far comes on Dec. 20 against Aston Villa, when he will be looking to find the net for the second time as a member of the Red Devils.
