Manchester City and Southampton exchanged chances in an exciting opening half at St Mary's Stadium, with neither side able to break the deadlock before the interval.
City's Yaya Toure remedied that situation shortly after the restart, accepting a ball from Sergio Aguero and firing home a low strike that, with the help of a slight deflection, beat Fraser Forster.
Slowly but surely, the Ivorian is starting to turn his season around.
