The grim report surrounding injury-plagued midfielder Abou Diaby appears to be off the mark.
After news suggesting the Arsenal player suffered a torn hamstring emerged Thursday, the club told James Olley of the London Evening Standard that the Frenchman did not endure a new injury and that he continues to recover from a calf injury.
Despite the team's denial, Diaby's tenure with the club will likely come to an end at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Diaby has only managed to appear in 42 matches in the five years since the 2009-10 season, when he played 40 matches for the club.
