Lampard not expected to play in Manchester derby on Sunday

Frank Lampard's first and likely only opportunity to experience the Manchester Derby first-hand is going to pass him by.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini said Tuesday that the veteran midfielder is unlikely to partake in Sunday's match against cross-town rivals Manchester United, as he is yet to recover from the thigh injury he sustained earlier this month.
“Frank Lampard has a muscle injury but all the other players in the squad are fit,” Pellegrini said.
“I don’t think Frank will be fit for the weekend but maybe he can be fit for next week," he added.
The former Chelsea star has made five Premier League appearances this season, scoring twice and adding an assist.
