Arsenal claims it's 'too early' to say how long Mesut Ozil will be out with knee injury
Perhaps we all got a little carried away.
Following the revelation from the German Football Association (DFB) that Mesut Ozil will be sidelined for roughly three months with a partial ligament tear in his left knee, the midfielder's club side released a statement claiming that more tests are required to determine the severity of the problem.
"The club will make further assessments and it is too early to say how long Ozil may be out of action," Arsenal noted on its official website.
The reaction has been swift in light of the initial diagnosis, with many declaring that Arsenal are in big trouble without their most creative player in the lineup for such a lengthy period of time.
This statement, then, may be more of an attempt to calm fan concerns than anything else.
