Arsenal's Calum Chambers in danger of missing Dortmund match with tonsillitis
The situation at fullback continues to worsen for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
After watching Mathieu Debuchy suffer an ankle injury Saturday that is expected to keep him out of the lineup for upwards of two months, the manager revealed yesterday that Nacho Monreal, dealing with a back problem, will not travel with the team to Germany for this evening's Champions League contest against Borussia Dortmund.
While the situation was not ideal, there would still be enough cover at the position, at least for one match. That may no longer be the case.
Wenger confirmed that versatile defender Calum Chambers is dealing with a bout of tonsillitis and is "50/50" to play in the match at Signal Iduna Park.
If he is unable to pass a late fitness test today, Wenger could be forced to thrust 19-year-old Héctor Bellerín into action.
