Report: Drogba could return to Chelsea as player-coach under Jose Mourinho
Didier Drogba could return to Chelsea after all.
Sky Sports reports that the 34-year-old free-agent striker, who became a club legend by scoring 157 goals in 341 appearances with the Blues before leaving in 2012, is considering a return to Stamford Bridge that would see him work as a player-coach under manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho brought the big Ivorian to England in 2004, paying Marseille £24 million for his services before the pair went on to foster a very strong bond - aided in no small part by the winning of six major trophies over a three year spell.
Chelsea have already signed striker Diego Costa this summer, but with Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba both gone and Fernando Torres looking more and more like he's forgotten how to play every season, there could be a place for Drogba in the squad.
