VIDEO: Liverpool's Luis Suarez ties Premier League record with 31st goal of season
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who earlier on Monday was named the 2014 Footballer of the Year by England's Football Writers' Association, etched his name in the Premier League history books against Crystal Palace.

The Uruguayan star, who has accomplished the remarkable tally in just 32 matches, scored in the second half of Monday's contest, giving Liverpool a 3-0 lead in the process.
Here was the goal, which featured all of the incisive movement and deadly finishing that has come to define the 27-year-old this season:
Suarez still has some work to do if he wants to claim the record for the greatest season in English football history, though.
Luis Suarez's joint record is for a 38-match season. Andy Cole scored 34 goals in a 42-match season.

It's not inconceivable that he accomplishes the feat, considering Liverpool will close out their season against a hapless Newcastle side at Anfield, and will likely need to score a boatload of goals to have any chance of claiming the league crown over Manchester City.
