Manchester United fans plan protest during Villa game
The aftermath of Manchester United's derby defeat at the hands of Manchester City continue to be felt.
David Moyes enjoyed a brief respite from the criticism that has dogged him this season after United managed consecutive wins against Olympiakos and West Ham last week.
Those good feelings came crashing to a halt Tuesday, when City laid a thorough beat down on United.
Now, Manchester United supporters are planning a protest during Saturday's match against Aston Villa.
The Guardian's Daniel Taylor has the scoop:
Arrangements are being made for the plane to carry a message "Wrong One - Moyes Out" as a response to the "Chosen One" banner that has hung inside the stadium since the former Everton manager was appointed as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor.
If it goes ahead, the stunt will be the first concerted effort by fans to remove Moyes from his position in a season that has seen the runaway champions last year slump to seventh, 18 points off the top and guaranteed their worst-ever return in the Premier League era.
Things got ugly at Old Trafford toward the end of Tuesday's match, with fans turning on Sir Alex Ferguson for putting them in the 'Moyes predicament.'
Manchester United hosts Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal next week. Nothing can go wrong.
