Latest transfer news and rumors: Real Madrid won't give up on Saliba
The transfer window may be closed, but the rumor mill never stops. Check in every day for the latest transfer buzz around the soccer world.
Top story: Madrid still admire Saliba
Arsenal are making progress in contract negotiations with William Saliba, whose current deal expires in 2027. But that hasn't deterred Real Madrid. Representatives from the Spanish giants watched the French defender in Arsenal's 1-1 home draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
Although the Gunners' desire to keep hold of Saliba hasn't weakened since they recruited a strong backup defender in Cristhian Mosquera this summer, that won't stop Real Madrid from sniffing around. Los Blancos have identified Ibrahima Konate, Dayot Upamecano, and Marc Guehi as possible free transfers to bolster their defense for next season, but they aren't solely focused on out-of-contract players in their center-back search.
