Aston Villa are interested in Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta after Juventus backed away from a deal due to his €40-million asking price. Palace are concurrently eyeing up a move for Evann Guessand, whom they tracked last summer before he joined Villa. Guessand has no goals in 13 Premier League appearances this season. (The Athletic)
