Fireworks erupted and fans celebrated outside Anfield as Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson lifted the Premier League trophy on Wednesday in extraordinary circumstances.

Liverpool clinched their first English title in 30 years after Manchester City's loss to Chelsea in June, but the club waited until its final home game of the season to commemorate the occasion.

The Reds' manic 5-3 win over Chelsea teed up the celebrations, which took place in an empty stadium due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Richard Masters, the Premier League's chief executive, and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish handed out the winners' medals while wearing masks.
