Maurizio Sarri is the leading candidate to become Juventus manager for next season, Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reported.

Juventus announced last week that Allegri - who's won five consecutive Scudetti with the club - would step down a year before the end of his contract.

The search for a new manager has reportedly led Juventus to Sarri, who could leave Chelsea after just a single season.

Meanwhile, the west London side has reserved current Derby County manager and former midfielder Frank Lampard as a potential replacement for Sarri, according to Di Marzio.

Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi, Tottenham handler Mauricio Pochettino, and Bologna taskmaster Sinisa Mihajlovic are also apparently under consideration for the Juventus job. Inzaghi, who won the 2018-19 Coppa Italia with the Biancocelesti on Wednesday, has previously been linked to the job.

If hired, Sarri would be an interesting choice. The 60-year-old famously flipped off Juventus supporters on the way to the Allianz Stadium last season as Napoli manager.

Under Sarri's watch, the Neapolitans pushed the Bianconeri to the limit last term, finishing second with a club-record 91 points.

Antonio Conte, who coached Juventus from 2011-2014, is unlikely to return. Di Marzio reports the former Italy manager has agreed to join Inter for the upcoming campaign.
