Dortmund director rules out January exit for Chelsea-linked Pulisic
Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc has cooled talk of Christian Pulisic possibly leaving the club in January, saying the American prodigy will remain with the team until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has struggled to maintain a consistent place in Dortmund's starting lineup this term, leading to suggestions he could be offloaded once the winter transfer window opens.
However, Zorc insists the winger is viewed as an important component in the team's plans for the remainder of the season.
"We are planning with him at least until the end of the season," Zorc told German outlet kicker, as translated by Stephan Uersfeld of ESPN FC, adding that ongoing reports of his possible exit have become expected.
"We will need Christian significantly."
Pulisic has made more than 100 appearances for the Bundesliga leaders since his senior debut in 2016. However, his role has somewhat diminished this season with the emergence of English starlet Jadon Sancho.
He recently spoke of his interest in playing in the Premier League, with the Guardian's Ed Aarons reporting that Chelsea have shown the most interest in adding Pulisic to their ranks.
Liverpool and Tottenham are also understood to be admirers of the youngster.
