Can committed to Liverpool despite interest from Juventus last summer

Emre Can revealed there was an offer on the table to leave Liverpool and join Juventus last summer, describing the Italian side's interest in him as an "honour."

Can reportedly caught the eye of Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta, who recently ruled out a move for the 23-year-old due to Liverpool's unwillingness to part ways with him.

The German international's future remains uncertain as he enters the final months of his current contract without a new deal to keep him at Anfield beyond next summer.

Despite the unresolved contract situation, Can insists that he's committed to Liverpool and competing in the Premier League.

"It's always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club, but currently I am only focused on the season with Liverpool," Can said in an interview with German outlet kicker, as translated by ESPN FC. "My agent takes care of the rest.

"The Premier League is just a really cool league, the most interesting in the world, but you must always respect other big clubs and leagues."

As to whether he can foresee a scenario where he and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp would wind up in Germany next season with Bayern Munich, Can said: "You never know what will happen. And I don't know what Jurgen Klopp plans."

Can has started five of Liverpool's Premier League matches thus far, and managed to score his first goal for Germany during Sunday's win over Azerbaijan.
