Northern Ireland secures play-off place before game in Norway
Northern Ireland won't need to risk bans in Scandinavia.

A 2-2 draw between Slovenia and Scotland means Northern Ireland is assured of being one of the best eight second-place national teams, who will be drawn into four play-offs in the second round. The Green and White Army will take the pitch in Norway with six players who are one booking away from a one-match suspension, including Steven Davis and Jonny Evans.
While progression was sealed, Northern Ireland is still playing for something in Norway. The top four national teams in the FIFA World Ranking will be seeded, and it remains to be seen where the Green and White Army will be ranked. The draw is scheduled to take place one day after the ranking is updated.
