If the decision was solely Antonio Conte's to make, the manager of the recently crowned Premier League champion said Friday he would stay at Chelsea for the long haul.

Ahead of his club's meeting with Arsenal in Saturday's FA Cup final, Conte gave his latest indication yet that he has still more to accomplish with the Blues.

"If the club give me the possibility to stay here and to extend my contract, for sure I am able to do this," Conte told reporters, according to the Press Association. "But we have the same idea about the future. The way we have to do things together, to improve the squad and the team. But, I repeat, I'm happy for this season and am happy to stay here.

"I hope to stay here for many years."

Reported interest from Inter seemed to suggest Conte could return to his homeland two years before the expiration of his contract.

The 47-year-old admitted one of the greatest challenges of his first season in England was living away from his family. He and his wife, Elisabetta, decided it would be best for their daughter to finish the school year in Italy.

But Conte confirmed his wife and daughter will move to London ahead of next season, giving him the peace of mind he may have missed during the 2016-17 campaign.

The Guardian's Dominic Fifield reported earlier this month that Chelsea is prepared to offer a new deal worth more than £7.5 million a season.
