Bournemouth shot-stopper Artur Boruc announced his retirement from the Polish national team Wednesday, turning the page on a 13-year run with The Eagles.

Boruc, 37, revealed his decision with an Instagram post, chalking up his determination to "health and age."

"It has not been an easy decision for me and has been one that I've taken incredibly seriously," the 64-time capped 'keeper's statement read, according to the BBC.

"However, after much thought and consideration I feel that now is the right time in order to focus fully both on my family and club career at AFC Bournemouth."

After earning a maiden international cap in April 2004 in a friendly against Ireland as a second-half substitute for Jerzy Dudek, Boruc would go on to form a solid triumvirate of fellow Premier League players Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny.

Boruc's last appearance for Poland was a friendly versus Slovenia in November 2016, where the current Cherries first-choice shot-stopper surpassed Jan Tomaszewski's national team record for caps.
