Arsenal youngster Zelalem joins VVV-Venlo on season-long loan
Gedion Zelalem is on his way to the Netherlands in search of playing time.
The promising Arsenal midfielder, 20, joined Dutch second-tier side VVV-Venlo on transfer deadline day, making the move on a season-long loan.
Zelalem, who spent last season on loan with Scottish club Rangers, mustered just two EFL Cup appearances this term, the lithe youngster unable to crack a squad loaded with midfield depth.
The German-born American figures to get an extended look with the Dutch club, and will surely be hoping for an experience similar to that of his time at Ibrox, where he made 21 league appearances.
Zelalem becomes the second Arsenal youngster to head out on loan in recent days, as the Gunners shipped Chuba Akpom to Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday.
