Tottenham inks captain Lloris to new contract until 2022
Tottenham has solidified its situation between the posts for the foreseeable future, the club announcing Thursday that goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris has inked a new contract that ties him to White Hart Lane until 2022.
The pliable 29-year-old, who joined the club in 2012 from Lyon, has emerged as arguably the Spurs' most consistent performer in recent seasons, his ability to both stop shots and launch attacks make him vital to everything manager Mauricio Pochettino wants to do.
"I'm very pleased with this new contract," Lloris said, per Tottenham's official Twitter account. "That's the way I show my commitment to the club, to my teammates, and the gaffer, and to show again how much I believe in this project, and hopefully the best year is ahead."
The Frenchman joins a host of teammates who have also inked new deals in recent months; Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, and Jan Vertonghen have all signed new contracts this season.
