Report: Oxford to snub United in favour of signing new West Ham deal
West Ham starlet Reece Oxford appears set to reject Manchester United's advances, preferring to remain in east London.
The versatile youngster is expected to put pen to paper on a new long-term contract later this week to remain at West Ham, sources tell Sky Sports.
Specifically, he's expected to sign the new deal on his 18th birthday on Friday.
Although he's only managed to make two appearances this season, there's been plenty of reported interest in luring him away from the Hammers, as Manchester United emerged as a possible destination for Oxford to continue his development.
However, it's believed that he's ready to reject United's interest and extend his West Ham career.
Oxofrd raised eyebrows last season when he became West Ham's youngest player to appear in a match during the club's season opening victory over Arsenal.
The 17-year-old is currently sidelined with an ankle ligament injury.
