Report: Liverpool's Matip on pace to return ahead of West Ham clash
Liverpool's backline could be set for a boost with the return of Joel Matip.
After an ankle injury forced him to miss Liverpool's dramatic 4-3 loss to Bournemouth last weekend, Matip is expected to be fit in time for the Merseyside outfit's encounter with West Ham on Sunday, according to the Press Association.
The Cameroon international is expected to be available for the Premier League clash after linking up with his teammates at Liverpool's training camp in Barcelona on Tuesday.
His presence was sorely missed during the Bournemouth loss when Liverpool conceded three goals in the final 15 minutes.
With Matip in the heart of Jurgen Klopp's defence, Liverpool's backline has been almost impenetrable - conceding more than one goal on just one occasion - and has not lost a match.
