Eriksen's rocket ends Chelsea's 601-minute shutout streak
Chelsea's enduring shutout streak was going to end at some point, and Christian Eriksen made sure that when it finally did, it was memorable.
The Tottenham midfielder unleashed a left-footed thunderbolt in the 11th minute of Saturday's showdown at Stamford Bridge, the ball rocketing past an outstretched Thibaut Courtois to signal the first time Chelsea has conceded in the Premier League in 601 minutes.
It's the first time the giant Belgian shot-stopper has been bested since the 3-0 hammering at Arsenal in September, and the only goal the Blues have given up in the league thus far since manager Antonio Conte shifted to his vaunted 3-4-3 system.
The impressive wallop also ended another streak, this one pertaining to Eriksen's previous inability to find the net this season:
39 - Christian Eriksen has scored his first Premier League goal of the season, with what was his 39th attempt on goal. Breakthrough.
