Zenit boss Lucescu: Guardiola more arrogant than Mourinho
Jose Mourinho has long been viewed as the most conceited, pompous manager on the planet; particularly when juxtaposed with perennial rival Pep Guardiola.
Not so, according to Mircea Lucescu.
The Zenit St. Petersburg coach, in his first season with the Russian club after a 12-year stint at Shakhtar Donetsk, claims the Manchester City boss is the haughtier of the two celebrated tacticians.
"Mourinho is an amazing guy, but my way of understanding football is totally different because I have an offensive mentality," Lucescu told Dolce Sport, as translated by ESPN FC.
"All my teams have broken records for goals. Mourinho seems more arrogant than Guardiola but it is exactly the opposite.
"Either way, both are great coaches."
Guardiola and Mourinho - who met earlier this season as City topped United in the year's first Manchester derby - renew hostilities with a fourth-round EFL Cup clash Oct. 26.
