Guardiola concerned by De Bruyne injury: 'It's a pity'
Manchester City has enjoyed an infallible start to the Premier League campaign, but the injury bug is certainly trying to derail what looks destined to be a very successful season.
Already without captain Vincent Kompany, manager Pep Guardiola watched on Saturday as star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne left the 3-1 win over Swansea in the latter stages after picking up an apparent hamstring injury.
The Belgian midfielder, 25, walked gingerly off the pitch in the 80th minute at the Liberty Stadium, and was replaced by Jesus Navas.
"I think he's injured," Guardiola said after the match. "Tonight we are going to come back to Manchester, tomorrow the doctor is going to see.
"It's a pity. It's important for us. For how he reacted it looks muscular but I'm not a doctor."
Arguably the best player in the Premier League so far this season, De Bruyne has been the focal point of Guardiola's revamped side, racking up two goals and four assists for the unblemished Citizens while pulling the strings from various attacking positions.
