Koeman optimistic Lukaku will return vs. Bournemouth
Romelu Lukaku is on track to overcome an injured toe in time for Everton's clash with Bournemouth, manager Ronaldo Koeman revealed to reporters Thursday.
The positive news follows Lukaku's absence in the League Cup when Everton lost 2-0 to Norwich City on Tuesday.
Koeman, however, said Lukaku's inclusion Saturday will depend on his ability to get through upcoming training sessions unscathed.
"He did training, separate to the group, today and we expect him to train normally tomorrow (Friday) morning. If that happens then he is fit for the weekend," Koeman said.
Before going down, Luakaku played a vital role in helping Everton get off to a blazing start by scoring four goals in three matches.
Everton currently sits in second place with 13 points through five games.
