Ross Barkley can cross another item off his bucket list.
On Tuesday, Barkley was named as Everton's captain for the Toffees' League Cup tie at home against Yeovil Town, the first time the English midfielder has been assigned his boyhood club's captain's armband.
For Barkley, the chance to captain Everton comes as a positive development after he failed to blossom under Roberto Martinez, and didn't take the pitch for England at Euro 2016.
But under Ronald Koeman, who was appointed as Everton's manager in June, the 22-year-old is looking more confident. Barkley has tallied one goal and one assist through the Toffees' first two fixtures of the 2016-17 Premier League season.
