Pienaar, 34, a product of Ajax Cape Town, worked alongside Moyes for six years at Everton before being released in June. The player made only four Premier League appearances for the Toffees last season, all of which were as a substitute. He was linked with a transfer to the Orlando Pirates before joining Sunderland.
