Ben Mee will continue to block shots with his head at Turf Moor.

On Thursday, Burnley announced that Mee signed a new three-year contract with the Clarets that will extend his stay with the club until the summer of 2019.

Mee, who had one year remaining on his previous contract, was voted Player of the Year last season by his teammates at Burnley, as he helped the Clarets keep 20 clean sheets and achieve promotion to the Premier League.

"It's brilliant and I'm delighted to extend my stay here at Burnley," Mee said. "After such a great season last year, and getting married in the summer, things just keep getting better and hopefully it will improve even more. I feel comfortable and at home here and we've been chatting for a while. Obviously it's been a busy summer, so it was something we put on a back burner, but it was always going to get done."

A product of Manchester City's youth academy, Mee initially arrived at Burnley on a loan spell but joined the club permanently in 2012.
