"Jose Mourinho is confirmed as the new manager of Manchester United. Great appointment for the club and Mourinho," Gary Lineker tweeted, before adding the following:
Next season will be electric in the dugouts. Mourinho, Klopp, Guardiola, Conte all fresh and keen....and Wenger of course.

Just wish he'd come to Arsenal.
Tennis legend Boris Becker, a six-time Grand Slam champion, had been waiting anxiously for official confirmation of the deal for a few days, and has some transfer advice for Mourinho:
Happy #Mourinho has agreed personal terms with @ManUtd !!!

Hopefully first signing will be #Zlatan ...
There remains some skepticism of the hiring, however:
It's precisely that "mystique & romance" about #MUFC that makes me wonder if Mourinho is right for them. Still, he'll make them strong again

Not from the club's fans, who were jubilant over the move:
@ManUtd I'm trembling. This is not just a photo. This is a decade old dream. Welcome home Special One. #WelcomeJose
