FA Cup quarterfinal draw: Man City host Liverpool, Chelsea get Port Vale
Manchester City will host Liverpool in the indisputable standout tie of the FA Cup quarterfinals.
Pep Guardiola's side has already beaten Liverpool twice in the Premier League this season - a 3-0 home win and a fiercely contested 2-1 away victory - but lost 3-2 to the Merseyside club in the FA Cup semifinals in 2022.
Bottom-place League One outfit Port Vale, the lowest-ranked team left in the competition, was handed a trip to Chelsea in Monday's draw after dismissing Sunderland in the previous round. Chelsea narrowly beat Wrexham on Saturday to reach this stage and will play Port Vale for the first time since they met in the Second Division in April 1929.
Second-tier Southampton will welcome record 14-time winners Arsenal to the south coast after beating Fulham with a late penalty Sunday. Arsenal had to dig deep to beat Mansfield Town in the fifth round.
West Ham United and Brentford face each other Monday to determine who will take on Leeds United. Leeds will feature in the FA Cup quarterfinals for the first time since 2003.
