Report: Wolves set to sign Barcelona's Semedo for around €40M
Wolverhampton Wanderers have lined up Nelson Semedo as Matt Doherty's replacement at Molineux.
The Barcelona right-back is expected to arrive in England in the coming days to finalize a transfer to Nuno Espirito Santo's ambitious Wolves side, sources told ESPN's Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens.
Semedo, 26, will reportedly cost around €40 million.
New Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman apparently prefers Sergi Roberto to Semedo, and the club is seeking another right-back in the summer transfer window. Norwich City's Max Aarons tops a list of targets also featuring Ajax teenager Sergino Dest.
At Wolves, Semedo would fill the void left by Doherty's recent departure to Tottenham Hotspur. Nuno selected Adama Traore at right wing-back for the club's season-opening win at Sheffield United, while youngsters Ki-Jana Hoever, Oskar Buur, and Luke Matheson all fulfill duties at either right-back or right wing-back.
