Inter CEO confirms Sanchez's arrival on 3-year contract

Inter Milan chief executive Giuseppe Marotta confirmed Wednesday that the club agreed to sign Alexis Sanchez on a permanent basis from Manchester United.

"It will be official tomorrow (Thursday) in the morning," Marotta told Sky Sport, as translated by Reuters.

"The player is completely ours and we have a three-year contract with him. We think he can be a full member of our squad."

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also confirmed that Sanchez will leave the club. "Alexis has had a good time over there, he's a good player, so we wish him all the best," he said.

The Chilean will reportedly join Inter on a free transfer, but the Italian side will inherit at least one year of his £390,000-a-week wages.

Sanchez, 31, scored four goals and assisted eight times over 22 Serie A appearances in the 2019-20 campaign. He was loaned to Inter following a miserable period of five goals in 45 matches for the English giants, but his performances improved during his temporary spell with the Nerazzurri.

The transfer will allow Sanchez to play the remainder of Inter's Europa League campaign. The attacker featured in Wednesday's last-16 victory over Getafe.
