Arsenal are looking to bring in a player sorely in need of a change of scenery as depth at the left-back position.
The north London lot is in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain over wantaway full-back Layvin Kurzawa, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein
Kurzawa has slid down Thomas Tuchel's pecking order. With the 27-year-old's current terms at PSG set to lapse in the summer, Kurzawa would be available on a free transfer come June or for a small fee now.
Arsenal reportedly hope to secure the Frenchman's services this January, and Ornstein adds that Gunners head of football Raul Sanllehi is leading negotiations taking place Thursday.
A move for Kurzawa might strike Arsenal supporters as unnecessary. Even with last summer's signing Kieran Tierney out with a separated shoulder, oft-injured Sead Kolasinac and prodigious teen winger Bukayo Saka have deputized for the Scotsman. It's expected that Kolasinac, who joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Schalke in 2017 and is one of the club's better-paid players on a reported £100,000-a-week deal, will be sold in the summer.
Kurzawa hasn't exactly starred at PSG following a €23-million move from Monaco in 2015. He's started just six league affairs for PSG this year as Tuchel opts instead for Juan Bernat. Tuchel also thinks center-half Abdou Diallo can provide cover at left-back.
Capped 12 times by France, Kurzawa's opportunities have also become limited with Les Bleus. He's made just one appearance since 2017.
