Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted Wednesday that injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay could influence Manchester United's business in the transfer window.

United are searching for attacking midfielders in January and are currently prioritizing moves for Leicester City's James Maddison and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, according to The Independent's Miguel Delaney.

Christian Eriksen, whose contract at Tottenham Hotspur expires at the end of the 2019-20 season, has attracted the club's interest as well, but he would apparently prefer a transfer overseas. Bruno Fernandes' representatives are also touting the Sporting CP star to United, but Solskjaer isn't as keen on a deal as when he was offered the 25-year-old's services last summer.

"Of course, it's playing on our decision-making when you've got two players out - Paul out for a month and Scott for two," Solskjaer said after the Red Devils' 2-0 defeat at Arsenal on New Year's Day, as quoted by ESPN's Rob Dawson.

"That will give us less options and we've got loads of games and important games. Still, it's got to be right and that's the point here. If he's available and it's possible, we'll do something, definitely. We're looking at one or two."

Dawson echoes Delaney's report by identifying Maddison and Grealish as names on the Old Trafford shopping list, but also adds some deeper-lying midfielders to the batch of targets: West Ham United's Declan Rice, Newcastle United's Sean Longstaff, and ex-Liverpool man Emre Can, who is out of favor at Juventus.

United were supposedly deterred by Newcastle's £50-million valuation of Longstaff - the elder of the two brothers on Tyneside - during the close season.
