David De Gea will ink a £350,000-a-week contract at Manchester United and hush speculation about his future, reports The Telegraph's James Ducker.

The Spanish goalkeeper is expected to sign the paperwork when United return from their preseason tour of Australia and Asia. The deal would make De Gea football's highest paid at the position.

De Gea's decision will end a year-long contract standoff that threatened to carry over into the final season of the player's current deal, meaning United risked losing the 28-year-old shot-stopper for nothing next summer. The 39-time capped La Roja standout has been previously linked with Paris Saint-Germain, or a return to hometown Real Madrid.

A £350,000-a-week agreement would make De Gea the club's second-highest paid player behind Chilean Alexis Sanchez, who's reportedly on a £391,000-a- week deal that swells to £500,000 with performance-related bonuses. Marcus Rashford just penned an incentivized four-year pact with the Red Devils that could hit £300,000-a-week with additional clauses.
