Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock confirmed Wednesday that Craig Bellamy, who coaches the club's Under-18s, is being investigated following a complaint about his behavior toward a player.
Grievances aired by the parents of an unnamed English youngster - who's since left the club - prompted the internal probe into the conduct of the 78-time Welsh international.
"Ken Choo, the chief exec, is dealing with this," Warnock said on New Year's Day, according to the Press Association. "It's not in my remit. I don't know anything about it."
Bellamy, 39, has also been the subject of other unsavory stories. John Arne Riise, his former teammate at Liverpool, included a section in his new autobiography - which has been serialized for newspapers - that details an episode when a drunken Bellamy allegedly struck him repeatedly with a golf club before a Champions League showdown at Barcelona.
Bellamy represented seven different clubs in the Premier League during an entertaining and controversial playing career. The forward netted 81 top-flight goals in 294 appearances, but also amassed 47 yellow cards, two red cards, and plenty of column inches relating to assault accusations.
