Arsenal's Mkhitaryan out up to 6 weeks with fractured foot
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been diagnosed with a fractured metatarsal in his right foot, Arsenal announced Monday, and is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks.
The Armenian international is believed to have suffered the injury during Wednesday's League Cup quarterfinal loss against north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Following a tackle by Lucas Moura at the half-hour mark, Mkhitaryan was in considerable pain while being tended to by Arsenal's medical staff. Though he initially stayed in the match, he was later replaced at half-time by Laurent Koscielny and was not named in the squad for Saturday's 3-1 victory over Burnley.
The Gunners also announced full-back Hector Bellerin has an unspecified injury to his left calf and will return to training in two weeks, while Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck are still out long term following their respective knee and ankle surgeries.
