Jose Mourinho has reportedly reached a deal with Spanish authorities regarding his outstanding tax fraud case.

The 55-year-old accepted a suspended prison sentence of one year and agreed to pay approximately €2 million in fines, according to a report from Spanish newspaper El Mundo relayed by the BBC.

Mourinho likely won't serve any time, as laws in Spain allow for a probationary period if the punishment for a first offense is less than a two-year sentence.

The charges stem from his three seasons as manager of Real Madrid between 2010-13. The country's authorities asserted that the current Manchester United boss failed to pay €3.3 million in image rights revenue in 2011 and 2012 combined.

Mourinho declared the tax saga "definitely closed" last November, though authorities countered that he was still under investigation.

The Portuguese boss is the latest on a growing list of former Barcelona and Real Madrid names who have been fined and/or accepted suspended prison sentences for tax evasion in Spain.

Since 2015, Javier Mascherano, Xabi Alonso, Ricardo Carvalho, Angel Di Maria, Luka Modric, Alexis Sanchez, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo have all faced some punishment or another for tax fraud. Ronaldo settled with authorities by agreeing to pay a reported €18.8-million fine.
