Pulisic's double for Dortmund sparks comeback victory over Liverpool
Christian Pulisic is making the most of his pre-season trip back home.
The United States' 19-year-old soccer prodigy scored twice on home soil Sunday, notching Borussia Dortmund's opening tally from the spot before finishing off a flowing counter-attack to help his club complete a 3-1 comeback win over Liverpool in Charlotte.
After the Premier League side took the lead in the 25th minute through a thumping header by Virgil van Dijk, Pulisic, who entered the match as a half-time substitute, was awarded a 66th-minute penalty following a foul by Reds centre-back Ragnar Klavan. He then stepped up himself, calmly firing his spot-kick past Loris Karius in goal.

He added his second in the 89th minute, placing his strike from the edge of the box into the bottom corner after a rapid counter-attack that originated within Dortmund's own penalty area.

Jacob Bruun Larsen later added Dortmund's third tally in stoppage time, pouncing on a rebound in the six-yard box after Karius failed to corral Pulisic's left-footed strike.
The victory keeps Dortmund perfect in the pre-season International Champions Cup tournament after it also defeated Manchester City 1-0 in Chicago on Friday. Pulisic also played a crucial role in that win, drawing the foul that led to Mario Gotze's decisive goal from the spot.
