Carlos Carvalhal's Swansea City stay looks set to end after just six months at the helm.

With the Portuguese manager's contract ready to expire, the Swans reportedly won't renew the 52-year-old, choosing instead to let Carvalhal walk at the end of the season, according to the BBC.

Carvalhal first took over at Swansea in December, replacing Paul Clement as the Welsh club languished in last after 18 Premier League matches. But despite an optimistic start to Carvalhal's stint - a 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur was Swansea's only defeat in the manager's first 12 matches, a stretch in which the club also notched victories against Arsenal and Liverpool - the Swans have now lost four straight and are a near guarantee to be relegated.

In order to avoid the drop, Swansea must defeat Championship-bound Stoke City and hope Southampton loses to Manchester City on the final matchday Sunday. Swansea, however, also needs to erase a massive goal differential with the Saints, who have scored nine more goals than the Welsh club this season.
