Gabriel Jesus rejoined his Manchester City teammates in full training Friday after missing the past six weeks with a knee injury.

Faced with a short bench just a couple of weeks ago, manager Pep Guardiola can soon expect to have a full squad at his disposal.

The returns of Phil Foden and Leroy Sane have also come at a critical juncture of the season, with the League Cup final next weekend and both FA Cup and Champions League obligations on the horizon.

Guardiola couldn't confirm whether Jesus would suit up for Monday's cup tie against Wigan.

"I don't know when he will be ready to be with us, but the first step is to join the team for training. He did one or two weeks alone," the Spaniard said, according to Goal's Sammy Lee.

Jesus last appeared for his club on the last day of 2017 - a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.

Sergio Aguero has enjoyed a renaissance in the Brazilian's absence, scoring 14 goals in City's first 11 matches of 2018, including a hat-trick against Newcastle United and a four-goal performance versus Leicester City.

Aguero often found himself on the bench in the months before Jesus' injury - so much so that questions were asked about his future at the club.

But in the time since, the Argentine has reminded everyone how prolific he is.

Guardiola is now close to having a fully healthy team, with full-back Benjamin Mendy also nearing the end of his recovery from an ACL tear.
