Wembley, United Kingdom, July 31, 2022 (AFP) - Germany's Lina Magull struck 11 minutes from time to make England wait for a first major tournament win in the women's game as the Euro 2022 final went to extra-time after a 1-1 draw.
Substitute Ella Toone's stunning lob on 62 minutes had put the Lionesses on course for history in front of a sell out crowd of 87,192 at Wembley - a record for either the men's or women's European Championship.
However, Magull capped a brilliant individual performance by slotting into the roof of the net to keep the eight-time winners alive.
