Lionel Messi couldn't bear the heartbreak a third time.
The Argentina captain couldn't capture his country's first title in 23 years after sending his penalty sky high in the shootout of the Copa America Centenario final against Chile.
While Messi's penalty was Argentina's first of the shootout, the Barcelona man took the miss to heart, breaking down beside Sergio Aguero. It's the third straight time he's come up short of international glory, having previously failed in his bid for the 2015 Copa America title and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
