Watch: Stindl scores easy tap-in after horrific Chilean giveaway

Germany's Lars Stindl will likely never score an easier goal in his career after tapping home on an open goal as Chile's Marcelo Diaz got caught out all alone at the back.

Diaz picked up a straightforward recycling pass but seemed to panic as Stindl and Timo Werner swarmed him on either end. He failed to clear the effort as he tried to turn from Stindl, allowing Werner to dispossess him and slip the ball over to his teammate to score on an open net.

It gave Germany a 20th-minute lead and also counts for the first goal scored by a European in the Confederations Cup final since Thierry Henry in 2003. It's also just the third goal Chile has conceded in this iteration, and the 12th goal Germany has scored, the most in the competition.
