Mexico, Jamaica play out uninspiring draw at Gold Cup
Knowing that a victory would be enough to qualify for the Gold Cup's quarter-finals, Mexico fell short in Denver.
On Thursday night, Mexico and Jamaica produced a scoreless draw at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, forcing both national teams to wait another day in their quests to progress from Group C.
Erick "Cubo" Torres started for El Tri, Juan Carlos Osorio made four changes to his starting lineup, and the Reggae Boyz's counterattacks were broken up, but the Gold Cup's reigning champion failed to do anything in the final third while supporters chanted "Fuera Osorio" and booed.
Mexico and Jamaica will take on Curacao and El Salvador, respectively, on the group stage's final matchday. El Tri and the Reggae Boyz can both advance by drawing their opponents.
